The King of Astons a common name of Aston Martin Virage has just stepped in India to give a good competition in the Indian market. It is basically a replacement of the decades old V8 models which was introduced at the Birmingham auto show in 1988.
When it comes to performance, Aston Martin cars have always kept itself at the peak, while they are produced and designed by skilled craftsmen. The design and the engine gives it a sports car feel while the trademark front grille of the car gives it an elegant and muscular look and makes the most of the wider wheels.. On the outside, the coachwork has received a complete redesign from Marek Reichman, Astons’s design director. In the cabin, the Virage gets lightweight sports seats and special trim, with a new satnav screen and Garmin software, but the same set of controls, instruments and switchgear as the rest of the current Aston line-up.
The model will be further distinguished by a new aluminum metal front grille with five horizontal vanes, inspired by the One-77, a new front bumper, distinctive front wings with six LEDs, single bi-xenon headlamps, and a rear diffuser which houses a body-colored blade accentuating the width of the car.
On the road, it is considered to be an old-school bruiser. Without the isolating subframes of the DB9, it rides that bit more harshly, but turns in more sharply. There’s not much of steering feel just off dead ahead so you have to take it on trust that the front end will bite, but once that trust builds up you can take large liberties and the Virage responds well with your actions.
The Virage was slotted just above the 6 cylinder DB7 to keep it ahead of other sports car in Britan. The car combines the power of a 6.0 litre V12 engine that produces 490 HP and 570 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed Touchtronic II automatic transmission mounted on the transaxle contributing to a perfect 50:50 weight balance. All these features come with the comfort and prestige of luxury.
To control the power on the road a new Adaptive Damping System (ADS) is present that controls the Virage’s road-gripping capabilities with five different stiffness settings within normal mode, and a further five stiffer settings within sport mode. Stopping power will come from the standard Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brakes that are significantly lighter than conventional cast-iron discs, adding to the Virage in its performance.
Like every Aston Martin, the Virage is a perfect representation of the British Luxury car manufacturer and has a perfect combination of luxury, elegance, sportiness and of course the Aston Martin tag to go with it.
