Its nothing but sedan’s explosion, when Ford has launched new fiesta with all new global power train – 1.5 L Ti-VCT and 1.5 L Duratorq TDCi engines — that will drive the premium segmented sedan first ever globally.
The new Fiesta offers best-in-class fuel efficiency at 17 kmpl with its petrol variant while 23.5 kmpl with diesel. Another specialty of fiesta includes first ever in segment advanced Bluetooth voice control like an intuitive human machine interface.
Prices for the two new models are competitive enough. The 1.5 L Ti-VCT is priced at Rs. 8,23,500/- (Ex showroom, Delhi) & Rs. 8.31 lakh (Ex Showroom, Mumbai), while the 1.5 Duratorq TDCi is priced at Rs. 10,42,200/- (Ex Showroom, Delhi) & Rs. 10.51 lakh (Ex Showroom, Mumbai). Moreover, Ford is offering 2 year/10,000 Km. warranty to attract customers.
Its BS-4 compliant petrol engine produces 106.5 bhp of peak power while diesel engine produces 90 bhp of power. Both the variants will be available on 4 different models based on its features named STYLE, TREND, TITANIUM & TITANIUM+. The standard features available on all its 8 models are ABS, EBD, Airbags and steering wheel audio control, while the top end model includes voice activated climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, auto-fold mirrors and pull drift compensation. It applies force opposite to cross winds & road camber.
Ford India has claimed that all new fiesta is cheapest in its class, specially when compared to Honda city, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Suzuki SX4 and new Hyundai Verna. This fiesta is the first of eight new global models that Ford is planning to launch by 2015. Michael Boneham, MD of Ford India, told AutomobilesNext that we are ready for the price gap. He said – “We will launch a new product every 12 to 18 months now. It’s an aggressive policy. It will be a mix of volume generating products as well as others to cater to a whole cross-section of customers.”
