Since its debut in 2020, the Tata Nexon EV has become a standout performer in the electric SUV segment. The latest Nexon EV comes in six variants: Creative+, Fearless, Fearless+, Fearless+ S, Empowered, and Empowered+, each available with two battery pack options, Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). Buyers can choose from seven stunning exterior colors, including Fearless Purple, Creative Ocean, Pristine White, Flame Red, Daytona Grey, Empowered Oxide, and Intensi-teal.
Battery, Range, and Charging Time
The Nexon EV facelift is powered by 30kWh and 40.5kWh battery packs, delivering 127bhp and 143bhp, respectively. While torque has decreased to 215Nm from 250Nm, the top speed has increased to 150kmph from 130kmph. Most notably, the facelift boasts an extended range. The MR offers a claimed range of up to 325km, while the LR impressively reaches up to 465km on a single charge. Both versions come standard with a 7.2kW AC charger, allowing the Nexon EV to charge from 10% to 100% in just six hours.
Design and Styling
The facelift brings a dramatic transformation to the Nexon EV’s appearance. The front features a blanked-out grille, an LED light bar running along the bonnet’s length with a battery level indicator, and corner-mounted LED headlamps. The rear showcases a new bumper, connected LED taillamps, roof-top antenna, a protruding rear spoiler concealing the inverted wiper, and a ‘Nexon.EV’ badge. The EV rides on stylish 16-inch alloy wheels.
Nexon EV Interior
Inside, Tata has given the Nexon EV’s interior a substantial update. The dual-tone cream and black theme exudes a premium feel. The center of the dashboard hosts a prominent 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a JBL sound system. Other notable features include a JLR-style gear lever with drive modes, an electronic parking brake, a vertically positioned wireless charging pad, height-adjustable ventilated front seats, a single-pane sunroof, a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Safety and Features
The facelifted Nexon EV introduces additional safety features compared to its predecessor. It now includes an emergency assistance button, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, and an auto-hold function.
