BMW’s Updated 2024 X2 and New iX2 Electric Model
BMW has unveiled the second-generation X2 alongside its all-electric variant, the iX2. The updated X2 is larger than its predecessor, featuring new design elements and improved features, while the iX2 electric model offers green driving with impressive performance.
Enhanced Dimensions and Design
The new 2024 BMW X2 boasts increased dimensions compared to its predecessor. It’s 200 mm longer, 21 mm wider, and 64 mm taller than the previous model, offering a more spacious and commanding presence on the road. The SUV features optional 21-inch alloy wheels to complete its dynamic look.
In terms of design, the 2024 BMW X2 follows the brand’s latest design philosophy. The front end showcases a resemblance to the new 5 Series, adapted to a scaled-up form. Sharp shoulder lines run along the sides of the car, complementing its coupe-like roofline. The rear is adorned with dual LED taillights, and the sportier M35i variant includes a stylish gloss black spoiler at the back.
Tech-Infused Interior
The second-generation X2 introduces a new dashboard equipped with BMW’s Curved Display. It includes a 12.3-inch infotainment screen paired with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV comes with a variety of features, including dual-zone automatic climate control, electrically adjustable seats with a massage function, a head-up display, wireless charging, Park Assist, and cruise control, among others.
Powertrain Options
The BMW X2 is available with three different powertrain options:
- A 1.5-liter petrol engine with 154 BHP and 280 Nm of torque.
- A 2.0-liter petrol engine with 297 BHP and 400 Nm of torque.
- A 2.0-liter diesel engine with 149 BHP and 360 Nm of torque.
All variants come equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard, offering a blend of performance and efficiency.
BMW iX2 Electric Variant
The BMW iX2 is the all-electric counterpart, featuring a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 309 BHP and 494 Nm of torque. This electric powertrain allows the iX2 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. Furthermore, it boasts a WLTP-certified range of 450 km, making it suitable for longer journeys. The iX2’s battery supports fast-charging at 130 kW DC, ensuring convenient and efficient charging options for electric vehicle owners.
