Kia India has recently announced a price revision for its versatile MPV, the Kia Carens, effective from October 1st, 2023. This move comes in line with Kia’s strategy to maintain competitive pricing in the Indian market while addressing the rising costs of production and raw materials. Additionally, the Carens recently welcomed the introduction of the exciting X Line variant to its lineup.
Last month, Kia revealed its intentions to increase prices for select models, including the popular Seltos and the stylish Carens, by up to five percent. Now, we have the updated pricing details for the Kia Carens, which reflect a modest increase in the model’s cost, with certain versions becoming dearer by up to Rs. 15,000.
The following are the key price changes for the Kia Carens:
- Unchanged Prices: The entry-level variants, including the Premium 1.5 petrol MT 7S, Premium 1.5 turbo-petrol iMT 7S, Prestige 1.5 turbo-petrol iMT 7S, Premium 1.5 diesel iMT 7S, and Luxury Plus 1.5 diesel AT 7S, will maintain their current prices.
- Moderate Increases: Several variants, such as the Prestige 1.5 petrol MT 7S, Prestige Plus 1.5 turbo-petrol iMT 7S, Prestige 1.5 diesel iMT 7S, and Prestige Plus 1.5 diesel iMT 7S, will see a modest price increase of Rs. 10,000.
- DCT Variants: The Prestige Plus 1.5 turbo-petrol DCT 7S versions will witness a slightly higher price adjustment of Rs. 10,200.
- Uniform Price Increase: All other variants in the Kia Carens lineup will experience a uniform price hike of Rs. 15,000.
This price adjustment is a result of various factors, including the growing costs associated with manufacturing and the procurement of raw materials. Kia aims to continue delivering high-quality vehicles to its customers while ensuring the long-term sustainability of its operations in India.
In addition to the pricing update, Kia India recently expanded the Carens lineup by introducing the all-new Carens X Line variant. This latest addition offers customers even more choices, starting at a competitive price of Rs. 18.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The Carens X Line is available with two engine options: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a diesel engine. These engines are mated to seven-speed DCT and six-speed torque converter automatic transmissions, respectively, offering a wide range of options to suit different driving preferences.
Kia India remains committed to providing a diverse and appealing product lineup to cater to the evolving needs and preferences of Indian consumers. With the Carens X Line and the revised pricing strategy, Kia continues to strengthen its presence in the Indian automotive market.
