Hyundai Refreshes the i30: Sharper Design, More Tech, Enhanced Safety

Hyundai i30 2024

Hyundai has unveiled a refreshed version of its popular i30 family, offering a bolder design, upgraded technology features, and improved safety systems across the hatchback, fastback, and wagon body styles. This update ensures the i30 remains competitive in its segment while continuing to cater to a wide range of customer preferences.

A Daring New Look:

The most noticeable change is the exterior design refresh. The front grille, bumper insert, and fog lamp housings have all been redesigned to create a more modern and distinctive appearance. The i30 will also be available in 12 exterior colors, including seven new options like Abyss Black Pearl and Jupiter Orange Metallic, alongside popular returning colors like Shimmering Silver Metallic and Engine Red.

The interior has also received a touch-up. The crash pad now boasts a smoother, more pleasant-to-the-touch finish, while the central tunnel gets a sleek gloss black treatment. The black interior scheme can be further customized with a choice of four modern seat trims, including full cloth, cloth & leather, full leather, and a sporty textile suede & leather option. Three new seat patterns add a touch of personalization.

For those seeking a more performance-oriented look, the i30 N Line receives even sportier aesthetics. This includes bolder grille meshes, red triple-line accents on the leather & textile suede seats, dark metal accents on the front bumper, and a new side skirt with a dark metal insert. New 17-inch and 18-inch N Line alloy wheel designs complete the sporty package.

Enhanced Connectivity and Safety:

The new i30 prioritizes a safe and connected driving experience. Standard features include a 4.2-inch color LCD cluster, three USB type-C charging ports for both front and rear passengers, and Over-the-Air (OTA) map updates for the navigation system. An optional 10.25-inch fully digital cluster further enhances the in-car experience.

On the safety front, the i30 comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of Hyundai Smart Sense features. Driver assistance systems like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA) provide additional peace of mind. Rear Occupant Alert reminds the driver to check the back seat before exiting, helping to prevent anything from being left behind.

Optional features like Junction Turning for FCA and Highway Driving Assist (HDA) 1.5 offer further safety enhancements by providing additional assistance during lane changes and highway driving.

Comfort and Practicality:

The new i30 prioritizes comfort for all passengers. LED lights in the interior and boot ensure better illumination, while front and rear parking sensors (PDW) provide audible warnings of obstacles at low speeds. For added efficiency, a 48V mild hybrid system can be opted for, providing electric power assist during various driving scenarios.

Hyundai i30 2024 Availability and Future:

Production of the new i30 is set to begin in April 2024 at Hyundai’s Czech Republic plant. With its refreshed design, upgraded features, and focus on safety and comfort, the new i30 looks well-positioned to maintain its popularity in the face of ever-evolving competition.
